Wednesday 30th September 2026:
Building a Field Together. Pre-Conference Research-Focused Workshop Day.
Venue: The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge (18 High Street, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2RA).
An opportunity for researchers, students and early career practitioners to connect, share work in progress and benefit from feedback from peers, experienced practitioners and trainers. This must be booked and paid for separately.
10.00-11.00 registration and refreshments.
11.00-16.30 Workshop programme, including lunch.
Evening – dinner or drinks in town organised independently (not included in the Pre-Conference Day Fee). We will offer recommendations for pubs and restaurants.

The Conference venue, Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, is located within the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. The Conference Centre houses several conference rooms; The Clagett Auditorium on the ground floor, the Kentish Barn for breaks and lunch on the first floor, and rooms for parallel sessions in adjacent buildings. There is lift access available on request. There are toilets on the ground floor. All conference rooms in the Conference Centre have hearing assistance systems (headphone or portable loop). Â The Clagett Auditorium has a small number of steps up onto the stage. Pets are not allowed in the Lodge.
The venue for the research workshop on Wednesday, The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, is on Canterbury High Street. The workshop takes place in the Learning Lab on the first floor. Disabled visitors can access a platform lift at the Best Lane entrance which provides access to the ground floor. A short distance from the platform lift is the passenger lift that provides access to the first floor. All floors have wheelchair accessible toilets. The Beaney has hearing loops (sometimes called an audio induction loops) to support visitors with hearing aids.
