3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference
3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference
'Pilgrims of the Page'
1st-2nd October 2026, Canterbury, United Kingdom
Pre-conference day 30th September
Post-conference day 3rd October
The 3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference will take place in Canterbury — a city shaped for centuries by pilgrimage, storytelling, listening, and transformation. Inspired by The Canterbury Tales, we offer this gathering as a shared journey.
Like Chaucer’s pilgrims, we will arrive from different places and disciplines, carrying our own stories, questions, and ways of working. As 'Pilgrims of the Page' we will spend time together discovering how words can heal, illuminate, and transform human lives.
Following the successful conferences in Budapest and Jyväskylä, the third European conference on biblio/poetry therapy will take place in the Canterbury Cathedral conference centre (The Lodge, pictured above), on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October 2026.
There will be a pre-conference day on Wednesday 30th September for researchers, early-career practitioners and students to meet and share more informally. On Saturday 3rd October, there will be a walking tour with writing prompts exploring Canterbury’s rich literary history.
